PRODUCT & EXPLAINER VIDEOS

High-impact product and explainer videos that help viewers understand. Clear 3D, animation, motion graphics and bespoke artwork designed to educate your audience on your services and specs.

Need help explaining something creatively, clearly and effectively?  Let’s talk.

Product Videos

Product videos show people how things actually work. They get past the top-line, and give a clear look at the features and functions that matter most to a user.

At Shake, we create animated product videos for hardware, software, platforms, and services. Some of our projects are short and punchy for a quick overview, while others dive deeper into the technical details.

Either way, the goal is always to make the product feel clear, useful, and reliable.

Our work is used across the whole business journey. You’ll find our videos on product pages, in sales decks, and as a key part of launch campaigns. They work just as well for live events as they do for internal training.

No matter where they end up, the job is the same: help people understand exactly what the product does and why it’s the right choice for them.

Explainer Videos

While a product video focuses on the physical specs, an explainer video is about the story.

We specialize in taking services, software, or new business ideas and turning them into clear, structured visual narratives. This isn't about the nuts and bolts; it’s about making sure your audience understands the value of what you do and how your process works.

Using a combination of 2D animation, motion graphics, and bespoke artwork, we create a visual language that represents your brand while simplifying the "heavy lifting" of your message.

Whether you're onboarding new clients or introducing a disruptive service to the market, our explainers provide the clarity needed to bridge the gap between a complex idea and an informed viewer.

Types of Explainers We Create:

  • Service Overviews: Breaking down how your business model or professional service functions.

  • Software Walkthroughs: Visualizing user journeys

  • Concept Visualizations: Taking abstract ideas and making them tangible through motion.

  • Internal Communication: Educating teams on new company policies, shifts or strategies.

By using animation, video, diagrams, audio and purposeful pacing, they show how something works, what a service does or why a product matters. They’re widely used for walkthroughs, onboarding, training, product launches, internal communication and any situation where clarity is essential.

Types of Product Videos We Create

Technical product overviews

Cinematic 3D renders built from CAD files or reference imagery. Detailed materials, realistic lighting and controlled camera moves present products in their best light, making them suitable for websites, launch videos, brochures and presentations.

Feature highlight clips

Shorter pieces that focus on one or two key benefits. Ideal for use on social feeds, advertising placements and landing pages where attention is tight and you want to lead with the strongest idea.

Comparison videos

Useful when you want to show what has changed since an earlier model or why one tier offers more than another. Animation lets us switch between versions, layer up benefits and keep everything easy to follow.

Walkthroughs

A combination of 3D product visuals and clean 2D motion graphics. This hybrid style works well for explainers, training materials and product launch content that requires both visual clarity and supporting information.

Where to use Product Videos

Product pages and landing pages

A good product video lifts a page instantly. Instead of asking people to read through a long list of features, you can show the key ideas in a couple of minutes. We design sequences that work well above the fold on landing pages, ecommerce product pages and campaign microsites.

Launches and campaigns

When you launch something new, you often need a hero video that can be reused across channels. We create product videos that can be cut down for social, used as the focus of an email campaign or dropped into presentations for partners and sales teams.

Sales, demos and training

Product videos work well away from the website too. We produce content for live demos, webinars, investor presentations and internal training. These pieces help teams explain features in a consistent way, without relying on a single person to present every time.

Why We Use Animation for Product Videos

Most of the product videos we make are primarily animated. This works especially well when:

  • Still in the development stage or not easy to film

  • Want to show internals, flows or systems that are hidden

  • Cleaner, more controlled look than live action

We use a mix of motion graphics, 3D product renders, and typography to tell the story. When it helps, we can mix in filmed material, such as hands using a device or someone talking to camera, but animation usually does the main job.

This approach suits technology, engineering, industrial and software products just as well as more familiar consumer items.

Showing Features and Benefits

A product video often has a lot to cover. The trick is to choose the right level of detail and present it in a way that always informs.

We structure product videos around a few simple ideas. First, we get clear on the positioning. What is this product for and who needs it. Then we organise features into a logical sequence and decide where visuals can carry the message instead of long lines of copy.

We use techniques such as callouts, simple diagrams, close up renders and UI animations to highlight the right details.

Typography stays clean, timings are paced sensibly and we give people just enough time to absorb what they are seeing before moving on.

How We Create Product Videos

We start with a conversation about the product, the audience and where the video will be used. From there we help you define the length, style and level of detail that makes sense.

Once the scope is clear, we move into planning. That may be a loose outline for a short piece or a more detailed script and storyboard for longer work. You will always see and approve the structure before we go into full production.

We then produce the visuals. This can include 3D models, motion graphics, icon sets, interface animations and any filmed elements if they are needed.

Music, voiceover and sound fx are added at the end to tie everything together.

Throughout the project we keep things on-brand and on time. You get clear review stages and space to give feedback, without endless rounds of revision.

Why Companies Trust Us

Shake is a boutique studio, so you work with the person who is actually creating your video rather than a large account team. That makes it easier to talk through ideas, refine details and keep the project moving.

We have produced content for large organisations and smaller companies alike, across technology, engineering,  manufacturing and service industries. In all cases the aim is the same. Make the product feel understandable, well designed and worth paying attention to.

Because we work across animation, 3D, motion graphics, visual effects and presentation design, your product video can connect neatly with the rest of your content. The same assets can be reused in explainer pieces, social clips, sales decks and event graphics

FAQs

How long ideally should a product video be?

Most product videos sit between one and three minutes, depending on complexity and where they will be used. We can help you decide the right length based on audience, platform and how much information is essential.

Can you work from our existing material

Yes. If you already have CAD files, photos, marketing copy or technical documents, we can use them as a starting point. Where needed, we simplify or adapt this material so it works better on screen.

Do you only create animated product videos

Animation is usually the main method, especially for technical or software based products, but we can mix in filmed clips when it helps. For example, a person using the product, an interview with a product lead or simple practical shots.

What is the difference between video, 3D animation, and Art-Directed AI?

Video is real, studio-shot footage, warts and all. 3D allows for controllable, clean, dynamic representation. Art-Directed AI is somewhere in-between with photorealistic visuals, complex simulations and environments impossible to generate usually.

How long should a typical explainer video be?

For maximum engagement, we generally recommend keeping explainer videos between 60 and 90 seconds. This is usually enough time to identify a problem, present your solution, and provide a clear call to action without losing the viewer's attention.

How much does a video cost?

Costs depend on the animation style and the length of the video. Because we are a boutique studio, we provide transparent, fixed-price quotes based on your specific requirements rather than using "one-size-fits-all" pricing.
