AI VIDEO PRODUCTION

I bring over 20 years of animation, post-production and digital design experience to AI video production, creating photorealistic scenes, cinematic visuals, character animations and stylised videos that were previously out of reach.

Whether you’ve got a clear brief or just an idea, let's turn it into something strong, on brand and ready to use.  Contact me.

The Generation Game

Clients increasingly ask about AI video production, so I've added it to my toolkit to offer a new level of creative output that was basically impossible before.

AI comes in when reality isn't an option, logistically or budget wise, or when a shoot would need expensive locations or Pixar-level talent and budgets to pull off.

I combine my background in video, motion graphics and post-production with AI tools to keep standards high. I don't just type prompts and hope for the best; I direct and refine AI visuals using twenty years of creative experience to craft something new and exciting.

For the right kind of project, generative tools let me build visuals from the ground up at a fraction of the cost and production time a traditional shoot could ever achieve. I treat AI as one more tool in the kit, not a replacement for craft or taste, and I often combine it with traditional methods. Explore my full range of animation, video and AI services to see how I blend both approaches.

Scene & Character Consistency

Character sheets, prop sheets and environment references all give the generative tools a fixed visual anchor.

This ensures your key persona, brand mascot or narrator maintains their exact facial structure and outfit, that products and props keep their exact shape, colour and branding, and that a location or set stays recognisable in lighting, layout and art direction, without drifting between shots.

Defining these parameters before production starts eliminates random outputs and speeds up the entire timeline. It turns generative animation from an unpredictable tool into a controlled, repeatable process where every frame feels intentional.

My 6-Step AI Video Workflow

Brief & Script: You send your objectives, assets and copy. I work with you to refine a script and plan, optimised for your platforms.

Storyboard & References: I generate mood frames in tools such as Nano Banana, VEO and Midjourney. You approve the style, characters and scenes.

Video Generation: Using the approved mood boards, I work in Firefly, Runway and VEO to generate multiple video options per scene, locking in character and scene consistency.

Voice & Audio: I use audio tools like HeyGen and LOVO to add natural‑sounding voices and narration that match your brand tone, then add sound effects and music.

Edit & Polish: After Effects, Premiere and DaVinci Resolve are used to colour grade, edit, design lower thirds and transitions, and fix any AI artefacts.

Delivery & Assets: Final videos are delivered in the agreed formats, resolutions and aspect ratios for your channels and platforms.

Human-Led, Well Executed AI

Say 'AI video' and some people picture a button press. A few minutes. Done. Low effort, low cost. That's not what it is at all, not if you actually want it to look good.

Getting to a genuinely good result takes the same amount of creative effort as any other method: a concept shaped and reshaped, prompts rewritten until they behave, dozens of generations sifted through for the shot worth keeping, then a post-production process that brings it all together in a human way, shaping how it feels and what it has to say.

What changes isn't the amount of effort, it's where that effort goes: less time lost to planning, travel and logistics, more spent on ambitions that were previously out of reach.

A candid shot of a cyclist in the local park? A real shoot wins, it's simple, cheap and real. A sprinter crossing the line in a packed Olympic stadium? Too big a job most other ways, and you can't just turn up and film the real thing.

That's a job for human led, well executed AI.

Reality Of Creation

No creative process gets it right on the first attempt, film, animation or design all work the same way. Video shoots multiple takes to land the right performance. A designer runs through several rounds before a layout feels finished. AI video follows the same pattern: getting a shot that looks right, product intact, movement believable, nothing warped or drifting, usually takes several generations, not one.

On average that's around five to six generations per usable shot, though a demanding hero shot, tight product detail, complex movement, higher resolution, can take considerably more before it earns its place in the final cut. That's not a shortcoming of the process, it's the process. Just like a film's shooting ratio or a design going through several rounds before reaching its final form, the extra passes are what get you to a result that's actually right, not just the first thing the machine produced.

This is also why generation costs can vary from project to project. Resolution is one part of that: budget-tier models generally output at 480p or 720p, or use upscaling from lower resolutions. The leading premium models now generate 1080P or even native 4K at high frame rates, so every frame produced is at full resolution rather than upscaled afterwards, which is a genuinely different result, not just a bigger file.

Audio has become another real dividing line. The top-tier models can now generate synchronised dialogue, ambient sound and lip-sync in the same pass, while other tools produce video only, with sound added separately in post. If a project needs a character speaking on camera, that alone can decide which tier is the right fit.

Price also tracks how quickly a shot becomes usable. Higher-tier models tend to hold their consistency for longer, so what you're paying for isn't only sharper resolution, it's fewer of those five or six generations needed to land the shot.

CASE STUDY:

SII Christmas Character Video

SII, a leading pharmaceutical library service, needed a warm, festive Christmas video for their staff to communicate company milestones and core software tools through an engaging story.

DELIVERABLES

A high-end animated character hosting a festive baking show. The narrative tracked the chef creating a cake, mixing ingredients that represented SII's core values: teamwork, collaboration, and creative software adoption.

CHALLENGE

Bespoke 3D character rigging, keyframe animation, and rendering times were completely out of reach for the project's budget and turnaround window. The project required agency-level animation polish without a massive production overhead.

OUTCOME

Using hybrid AI video generation paired with post-production finishing, I delivered a fully realized, character-led animated video in a fraction of the traditional timeframe and cost.

The final piece gave SII a top-tier visual asset while proving that generative workflows make custom character animation accessible for targeted internal and commercial campaigns.

Creative Process Overview

Very basically, I start by understanding the client’s goals, requirements and visual direction, then develop the concept outline until it feels right.

From there, I create reference assets such as character sheets, prompt sheets and visual guides so the AI is working from a controlled creative framework rather than chance.

I then choose the right model for the task, generate and refine the material, and look for the happy accidents that can push the edit in a better direction.

Once the AI stage is complete, the work moves into traditional animation, design and post-production, where I add elements, motion, graphics and copy before exporting in the required formats for the intended platform.

FAQs

What is AI video production and how does it work?

AI video production uses machine learning and generative models to automate or enhance parts of the filmmaking process. I use these tools to handle everything from generating initial concepts and storyboards to upscaling footage and creating complex visual effects, so we can move from an idea to a high‑quality draft much faster than traditional methods.

What types of AI video services do you offer?

I offer AI-powered cinematic videos, animated explainers, product and campaign films, internal communications pieces, social-first content and bespoke visual sequences that would be difficult or expensive to shoot traditionally. Each project can be purely AI-driven or built as a hybrid, combining AI generation with traditional animation, design and post‑production.

Why choose Shake Studios for AI video?

Many AI video providers rely on simple prompting and accept whatever the machine gives them. I bring over 20 years of animation, design and post‑production experience to the process, using AI as one tool inside a controlled workflow. When an output isn’t good enough, I refine it using traditional animation, VFX and design techniques, and I don’t release anything that isn’t a good fit for your brand.

Are AI characters and products consistent?

Yes. Character and product consistency can be challenging with AI, but I use character‑consistency models, subject references and locking techniques so your mascots, brand ambassadors, environments and products look the same across every video. I build a digital DNA for your project before we start, which keeps everything aligned over time.

When should I use traditional video instead of AI?

Sometimes traditional methods are the better choice. If you need highly nuanced performances, live‑action testimonials or very specific real‑world locations, traditional video production or animation is the way to go. AI video becomes ideal when you need to build impossible scenarios, move quickly, explore multiple visual directions or achieve high‑end production value on a reasonable budget.

What branding assets do you need from us?

If you have brand guidelines, logos, fonts, colour palettes or existing graphic assets, I integrate them into everything from lower thirds and on‑screen text to end screens and overall visual styling. Because I also specialise in design and motion graphics, the AI‑generated content is shaped to feel like a native part of your brand identity, not a disconnected experiment.
